A new pond will become the focal point of your backyard and your family’s favorite place to go and relax, entertain and have fun. If you have decided to have your pond professionally installed, there are many questions you need to have answered. We have provided this list of questions we feel are important in making your decision. Please feel free to use them as a guide in your process of choosing a pond contractor. 1. How long have you been installing ponds and how many ponds do you install each year?
Aquatic Connections has been creating inspiring water features since 1988. Our retail water garden center opened its doors in March 2000. We install and upgrade an average of 40 ponds per year. Ask to see our portfolio.
2. Do you do your own designs and will there be landscaping around my pond?
Aquatic Connections has our own designers who will meet with you. Our goal is to create a plan that incorporates your family’s needs, lifestyle and budget. Landscape & lighting will be designed and presented along with the pond.
3. Will you provide a written proposal detailing the work, a written guarantee and payment terms?
Yes, Aquatic Connections provides a written estimate covering the entirety of the project, providing details about the pond, landscaping and contain instructions for their proper care. Our guarantee and payment terms are included with the estimate.
4. Does your company have insurance?
Yes, Aquatic Connections is fully insured and can provide you with a certificate of insurance if requested.
5. Will you stay on my job until it is completed?
Yes, Aquatic Connections will complete your work in a professional and productive manner from start to finish. The only thing that would prevent us from doing so would be adverse weather conditions or other contractors you have hired who have work to complete first.
6. How many types of pond filtration systems do you install? How do you know which one is best for me?
Aquatic Connections installs systems by Aquascapes, Aqua Ultima II, Easy Pro, Nursery Pro, and Savio. Every pond and pond owner is different. The design, surroundings, accessibility, type of pond (garden pond vs. koi pond) and the fish load are determining factors in our decision. We use what is best for each customer.
7. Do you provide service after my pond is installed?
Yes, to help you enjoy your pond, Aquatic Connections offers a monthly pond cleaning service. A contract is included with your estimate.
8. Do you have a facility I can visit to see display ponds?
Yes, stop by Aquatic Connections’ water garden center and stroll through six fully landscaped pond displays. The ponds vary in design, size and use different types of pond filtration. They range from 500 gallons to our 9000 koi pond.
9. I’m thinking of installing the pond myself. Can I buy all of the pond supplies from you?
Yes, bring us a picture of where you want to build the pond and we’ll help you with the design. All the materials for your pond can be purchased at Aquatic Connections, including the rocks, boulders and gravel!
10. Can I buy my fish, pond plants and other pond supplies from you?
Yes, Aquatic Connections’ water garden center is dedicated to the pond industry. We carry a complete line of pond supplies, additives, fish food, pond accessories, etc. In season, we have thousands of aquatic plants, both hardy and tropical. We stock many varieties of pond fish: domestic & imported koi, comets, fancy goldfish, tadpoles, snails, etc. Aquatic Connections has everything for one stop shopping.
