Aquatic Connections
Creative Designs Begin Here
Pond Design and Consulting Services
At Aquatic Connections, we believe that successful projects begin with open
discussions and creative thinking. Our role is to combine your ideas with our years
of experience to create a well balanced, natural-looking water feature. Our initial
conversations are extremely important in discovering what you envision for your
outdoor living space and how we can accomplish that within your budget.
Ponds and water features can be created in all shapes and sizes and blended into any terrain.
Adding lighting, landscaping, or even a sitting area, not only brings life to your garden,
but makes it one of the best investments you can make in your home’s outdoor living space.
The following information summarizes the consultation, design and installation process offered
by Aquatic Connections.
Step 1.
New Project Questionnaire (click to complete questionnaire online & a designer will contact you)
Whether you contact us via the web, by phone or stop by in person, the pond design and
consulting process begins with the completion of a New Project Questionnaire. We have
developed a series of questions that provide us with the necessary groundwork to proceed with
a visit to your home or business. The answers to these questions will give the designer
insight into the type and scale of the project. How do you plan to enjoy your new pond, water
feature and landscape? Do you have young children or pets? What budget do you have in mind?
These are all examples of what we will discuss. Upon completion, we will schedule an
appointment to visit your home or business as detailed below.
Step 2. Visual Plan and Pond Design
With the feedback from your questionnaire, the designer will visit your home or business and
develop your Visual Plan. This visit gives the designer the opportunity to take the “picture
in your mind” and bring it to reality. It is very helpful if all interested parties are
present during this visit. Most ponds, water features and landscapes can be visually
designed and agreed upon during this first visit. The designer will show you numerous photos
that are similar to what you want to achieve in your yard. They will bring a measuring wheel;
an outlining rope and marking paint to actually layout your water feature in the size, shape
and location that best suits your needs. You will be able to get a visual image of how an
Aquatic Connections pond design can transform your backyard, and how your family will be able
to enjoy this newly created space. The designer will take pictures of the site and appropriate
measurements, including elevations of the property, if necessary. A sketch including all
requested elements such as waterfalls, streams, bogs, fish caves, specific plants, hardscaping,
etc., will be indicated. The goal is to complete a layout that represents what you wish to
achieve and is priced within your budget. A second meeting will be scheduled, only if
necessary, to review a more detailed design before the Interactive Proposal is presented.
Step 3. Interactive Proposal
After visiting your home and discussing your ideas and your budget, Aquatic Connections will
prepare an estimate for your custom project. A link to your interactive proposal will be
emailed to you. The proposal will provide several options for your project with the
designer’s recommendations already selected. The interactive proposal is able to be modified
while you are discussing it with the designer, tailoring it to your specific needs or budget.
Step 4. Installation
Aquatic Connections provides design, consulting and project estimating services. At Aquatic
Connections, we represent the best the water garden industry has to offer! We carry the
most efficient, most up-to-date product lines by the leading manufacturers. We have
thousands of aquatic plants in stock and a wide selection of koi and goldfish during the
season. To ensure your new water feature will be created with the best products, you will
purchase the pond related materials directly from Aquatic Connections. The designer will
then suggest the most qualified Contractor, related to your project, to be the installer.
The Contractor will be provided a copy of a sketch from the consultation and a complete list
of materials to complete the project. They will schedule the installation date, coordinate
the delivery of materials and install the project described in the proposal. The designer
from Aquatic Connections will meet with that Contractor to discuss your project. Payment for
installation will be made directly to the Contractor as indicated by their terms. All
materials, included in the Fee for Materials, which were purchased directly from Aquatic
Connections, are subject to the manufacturer’s warranties. Aquatic Connections is only liable
for the replacement cost of the defective product and not the labor costs involved with the
removal or replacement of the defective product. All other warranties and guarantees are
between the Client and the Contractor. The Contractors recommended by Aquatic Connections are
all trained at hands on seminars, and are very knowledgeable about ponds and water features.
Note: The designs/sketches that are used by the Contractors, are used solely as a
guide. Since the natural materials being used, such as rocks, boulders, plants, come in
different shapes and sizes, the final look of the project may differ slightly from the design
or photographs of other projects you may have seen. There are many instances where the
Contractor may make minor changes during construction because they can achieve a more
visually appealing look than what is indicated on paper.
Aquatic Connections Fees
Clients will pay Aquatic Connections $85 an hour for the initial consultation, all subsequent
meetings, and $85 per hour for any Design Preparation. These fees are payable the day of each
meeting. The Client will pay Aquatic Connections the Fee for Materials, as outlined in the
Proposal. However, to expedite the starting date, a deposit on the material cost can be made
along with the consultation fee. This would guarantee immediate placement on the Contractor’s
installation schedule. Upon receipt of full payment for the materials, Aquatic Connections
will provide the Contractor with the Design and list of materials to start the project.
The payment can be mailed to: Aquatic Connections at 428 Philmont Ave. Trevose, PA 19053.
