Gary Jones is currently the Research Project Manager at Mars (Pond Care) in Chalfont, Pa. Gary has assisted both the Pet and Pond industry with technical information. Gary has worked in the aquatic industry for over 25 years. He has built aquatic environments for public aquariums, museums and universities throughout the United States and Asia.
Gary has taught biology and aquaculture courses at several universities throughout Pa., NJ., and Virginia. He is an expert regarding all aspects of water gardening. Gary has received numerous awards and is the youngest reecipient ever to be awarded a lifetime 'Sitawe Award' for outstanding services in business. But most importantly, Gary is an avid hobbyist with aquariums and ponds at his home.

WATERFALL BUILD & SALE

Description: We will be constructing a large waterfall into our 10,000 gallon koi pond. We will be using a new type of waterfall filter box that we used at the Philadelphia Flower Show this past March. The area will be prepared so we can get right to it. This will be a great experience for those who want to redo their existing, add another waterfall, or start from scratch. Feel free to get your hands dirty or just hang out to get some pointers. This project could take longer than the posted time as we want to answer all questions as we go.

BIRD SEED BONANZA

Description: All backyard bird feeding hobbyists are welcome to come to our First Bird Seed Bonanza Event. If we could invite the birds to this taste testing event, we would, but instead we will rely on our customers to let us know what types of bird seed you would like to have Aquatic Connections keep in stock! Come check out our bird seeds, compare prices, quality and the sizes we can offer. Bring in a sample of the bird seed you use and tell us about the birds you attract to your backyard. All types of seeds will be represented: finch, sunflower, safflower, mix seed of various quality and price, seeds with fruits & nuts. Our prices and some of our competitors will be compared side by side.
All open bags of seed will be raffled off at 2:00 pm. Raffle tickets will range from $2-$5 depending on the size & type of seed.
All bird feeders will be on sale during the event. If you are new to bird feeding, come learn about the various birds in your backyard and what they like to eat!
Applications will be available to certify your yard or garden as a Backyard Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Stop by and see what you can do to provide a sustainable environment for birds and other wildlife in your backyard.
Bring the kids too. We'll have activities for them to do and it's a great way for them to learn about birds.

POND & LANDSCAPE LIGHTING

Description: We can't wait to show you how to light up your outdoor living area. We will be using all low-voltage fixtures and show you how to actually install lighting in and around your pond. We will explain how to size a transformer, where to put lights and where not to, and how to keep your area from looking like an airport. An exciting detail to lighting is called 'Moon Lighting'......but you need to come out to see it. We promise, you will leave, electrified. Remeber, we can put together and install a lighting package for you. ALL LIGHTING AND ACCESSORIES WILL BE 15% OFF WHEN ORDERED AT THE SEMINAR. THE $85 CONSULTATION FEE WILL BE WAIVED IF AN APPOINTMENT IS SCHEDULED AT THE SEMINAR.
