How it all began…
Aquatic Connections, located in Trevose, Pennsylvania, is one of the largest pond stores in Bucks County, PA. Our journey began in 1999 with a two-line classified ad in the newspaper that read: “Garden Center for Rent. Available immediately”. Our dream was to open a pond store that would be inspiring to others, creative in ideas and technology and provide all of the pond supplies homeowners would need to build or enhance a pond in their own backyard. We wanted to provide one stop shopping; not only for pond kits, but for everything else a pond owner would want or need, including aquatic plants, fish and accessories.
And so, in January 2000, we began to shape our vision, from a small building on three acres of barren land, to what we have become today. In March 2000, we opened our doors with a handful of pond supplies and two employees. By August 2000, we had created our first pond display. As you will see in our photos, and by visiting Aquatic Connections in person, we have come a long way and continue to strive to be one of the best pond stores around.

Over the years, as the pond industry has changed and evolved, so has Aquatic Connections. We have designed and constructed beautiful outdoor ponds, fully landscaped and uniquely created, making it easy for homeowners to visualize a pond in their backyard. If you have a chance to visit us, you will discover that our three acre facility is inspiring and has something for everyone. We encourage you to take our Nature Walk Tour and meander through our six different pond displays. You won’t be able to resist the tranquility and breathtaking serenity that a pond can bring to your backyard. A pond will bring your backyard to life!
You can stop and feed the Japanese koi in our 10,000 gallon koi pond. Close your eyes and listen to the cascading waterfall as you sit on the benches along the winding stream. Play golf on our putting green, complete with its own water hazard. Aquatic Connections is the place to visit when you want to learn the tricks of the trade. It’s all in the detail!
From container ponds to koi ponds, the soothing sound of water can be enjoyed by all. Ponds can be created in all shapes and sizes and blended into any landscape, bringing your backyard to life. The sound of cascading water, as you sit and relax near your pond, is soothing! The movement of colorful fish, gliding through the crystal clear pond water, is mesmerizing! Inside our pond store, you will find a complete line of pond supplies and accessories to make your pond one of a kind! We carry complete pond kits, pond lighting, water treatments, fish food, and everything else a pond owner might need. We even have underwater pond cameras. Step outside and you will be delighted with the thousands of pond plants to choose from when “waterscaping” your pond. Plant hardy water lilies, add color to your pond with tropical pond plants or add a splash of excitement by placing a fountain or statue in the surrounding
landscape. Birds and butterflies will visit your pond too when they
discover the movement of water.
Complete your Outdoor Living Space
Interesting plants and shrubs will accentuate your pond and landscape. At Aquatic Connections you will find long blooming perennials, graceful ornamental grasses and flowering trees to create a park-like setting around your patio, deck or pond. Don’t miss the fish!
Looking for new fish for your pond? Don’t miss our state-of-the-art fish house. Our marine aquarist will help you choose from imported and domestic koi, butterfly koi or fancy comets and goldfish. We do water testing and professional pond test kits and can help you keep your pond fish safe and your water crystal clear.
The larger than life koi mural on the outside of our fish house welcomes everyone to come inside and discover the biggest joy for most pond owners- beautiful fish. All of our tanks are specially filtered and our fish are quarantined before sale, so they are healthy when you take them home.
Education is the key…
The owners and staff of Aquatic Connections regularly attend trade shows and pond seminars across the country to keep abreast of the latest in pond technology. The more we know about ponds, the more you will know about ponds! At Aquatic Connections, we recommend pond supplies that we feel have the best features and are easy to use. Our goal is to help you create your pond in a natural-looking way; a well-balanced aquatic ecosystem with a proper pond filtration system, complete with pond plants, fish and other wildlife. Pond Seminars and Plant Demonstrations
Throughout the year we hold various pond seminars and events at Aquatic Connections. Some are informational, on topics such as How to Clean a Pond or Dividing Water Lilies, and others are hands on, such as our Build a Pondless Waterfall Day, where customers help us build our pond displays. We also host Garden Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Daycares and student groups, offering educational demonstrations, pond lesson plans and tours. Plant demonstrations like our “Create a Carnivorous Bog Garden”, held this past summer, are a huge success.
Family Events and Children’s Programs
Adopt-A-Fish Day
Some of the events are just for fun like our
Annual Adopt-A-Fish Day held for kids
every summer. Children under the age of
15 years old come adopt a pond fish and
take it home for free. Each child names their
fish and receives an “Official” Adoption
Certificate. The kids all receive information
on how to care for their fish, as well as some
pond safety tips. Over 100 children attend

Ponds For Kids
Aquatic Connections also participates in
school programs, like the Ponds for Kids
program held at elementary schools. The
children stay after school one hour per week
for six weeks and work together building an
indoor pond, complete with plants and fish.
Other classes on plants, birds, butterflies
and ladybugs are held throughout the year at
daycare centers and nursery schools. For more
